Propella is one of the first business hubs in South Africa to be fully geared for Business 4.0.
Propella Business Incubator provides enterprise development support to innovators with disruptive technologies that results in increasing global competitiveness for manufacturers located in the Eastern Cape. Propella Business Incubator seeks to grow the critical mass of innovators in the region, and therefore encourages entrepreneurs to remain in the region and contribute to the regional economy.
Propella Business Incubator is a partnership between Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), Engeli Enterprise Development and other private sector partners, e.g. Telkom. The incubator and accelerator commenced operations in November 2015.
Girls in STEM
Girls in STEM launched as 1year STEM programme funded by the US Consulate for Grade 9 girls in Port Elizabeth.
Africa4Future is a joint business accelerator of Airbus and GIZ’s Make-IT in Africa initiative, together with the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) Africa, an entrepreneurial training programme, seed fund and Pan-African incubator and Innocircle, the South Africa-based innovation consultancy. It is dedicated to African tech startups that are actively working on aerospace-based solutions to meet Africa’s most pressing challenges.

We have also designed the South African Accelerator Program on behalf of the GIZ and the Merck Accelerator focusing on E-health solutions for African start-ups.
Which supports startups with the final objective of partnering up with them. Merck is looking for real partners in order to work together in shaping the future.
FutureMakers is Telkom’s enterprise and supplier development programme.
Launched in May 2015, it has made significant progress in supporting strategic start-ups and existing small businesses as well as other entrepreneurial ventures aligned to the technology sector and the Telkom value chain.
Inspiring Fifty is an initiative that benchmarks and awards the 50 most inspiring women in the field of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). These trailblazers, innovators and boss women play a major role in challenging the industry’s norms of what makes a leader. The Inspiring Fifty are important role models for encouraging more girls and women in technology, as well as inspiring future leaders and entrepreneurs to follow in their footsteps.
Inspiring Fifty identifies, encourages, develops, and showcases women in leadership positions within the technology sector.
